Our Chapter

The mission of BMES is to build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions; promote education and professional development; and integrate the perspectives of the academic, medical, governmental, and business sectors.



The student chapter of BMES at Wichita State University adopts this philosophy and encourage chapter members to abide by it while interacting with others within the bioengineering program, the College of Engineering, Wichita State, and the city of Wichita.

As the bioengineering program grows, the BMES chapter is bound to grow as well. The chapter charges no dues, other than encouraging its members to join the national chapter of BMES for a low annual fee. 



The chapter meets monthly to discuss events and happenings going on within the bioengineering program, as well as participate in social events designed to allow fellow students to meet and get to know one another. These events include parties and gatherings, intramural sports, faculty lectures and presentations, and more.
